The ONE thing missing from IL-2 is...

    It has just struck me....

full in the face....what is missing from IL-2.

It has been in my head for weeks, months maybe.....and it has just occured to me.

The one thing that IL-2 Forgotten Battles and AEP needs....something to redefine its perfection......a "thing" that would make Dogfights AND VEF so much more exciting....so much more......REAL.

And SO MUCH BETTER for screenies.....and films.....

    anybody know what it is?

    CLIFF's

    we need REAL CLIFFS.....

imagine a dogfight at sea level, and energy levels being low...and the base at the top of the cliff......

imagine the UPDRAFTS as you swoop over the cliffs!

    WHERE ARE THE CLIFFS!?

the Spitfires over the cliffs.....swooping down, the 109's wheeling in the sun, the bombers striving for height near to home.....the white chalk, the sea pounding the base....

    CLIFFS!!!!

    NOW

Well there are cliff type arrangements in Crimea, not very sheer and more down the lines of mountains on the coast, but yes they would be nice.

All we REALLY need is a channel map, 2 bits of coast and some white cliffs, would be the single best add on so far.

I think what's really holding back IL2 is the fact the maps are all hidden away in those damned SFS files, if they would allow the community to create and distribute news ones, and base missions around them, I think it'd give the game a new lease of life..

    Can't see that happening though..

I reckon they must be saving this one for Battle Of Britain. You just can't have a BoB game without the white cliffs of Dover and the rolling South Downs!

Since the day I got the orginal il2 ive wanted cliffs To fire up a spitfire and 11 AI wingman and fly finger 4s below cliff level, record it and save screen shots for desktops, to fight 109s over hells corner. To imagine that in PC land im "One of the Few thundering by" *Sigh* Of such things dreams are made

and NOT only that, how about seeing the pilot bouncing off their planes as the bail out or their shoots not opening or (not so important) getting chut up by the blades when in a vertical spin for example.

but wait theres more, if you shoot the off a plane's / bomber's wing off, and it then starts to spin, nobody should be able to bail out, especially bombers.
