Oh yeah that project where people that didnt know what they were doing were given critical parts of the airplane to build and then things started going wrong, and the French were involved, thats a bad start....

VC10
Jags Nimrod Some historic flypast then! Live fairly close and work closer to Lakenheath and Mildenhall. Noticed a couple of very low flying exercises last night. Our church is some kind of dummy target and our house is on the bomb run. Shame they dont have any Mildenhall airshows. They were spectacular, although 200,000 people on Suffolk country roads does rather block things up!

If only the French were involved. Their Dassualt Rafale was on the drawing board at the same time as the British Aerospace EAP (the precurser to and testbed for the Eurofighter). The EAP first flew in 1986 and we're still waiting for the Eurofighter Typhoon. The Dassualt Rafale first flew in 1986 and went into service about 5 years ago. Give me the French to design, build and put into service an aeroplane any day. Or even the Swedes. Their Saab Gripen was the first of the new wave of modern Delta Canard fighters to enter service. |

IIRC the French were involved to start with then they backed out and did the Rafale, by the time the Eurofighters done it'll be 15 years out of date...
Not that it will get finished, we'll just end up buying some crap of hte Yanks instead, like the replacement for the Harrier, too heavy for our carriers already, whats wrong with the If it aint broke dont fix it way of thinkin?

What was really odd was that they were so low, I think the only thing I've seen lower was the Harrier the other year when they dropped it in the drink..

Close, but it's a KC-1 Tristar, not a KC-10, and yea it's been a shame about Mildenhall air fete for the last 3 years, there should be one next year though. I have every Mildenhall air fete souveneir program since 1983 !
To err is human. To really foul things up ... you need a computer.

I'm thinking it must be RAF Neatishead, about 5 miles SE of Coltishall. Another cost cutter I guess!
In fact, bingo - just googled up this ~ http://news.mod.uk/news/press/news_p...wsItem_id=2889 |

Bloomin' 'eck. They're at it again. A VC10 flying finger four with Jaguars just went over West Norwich! I wonder what the occasion is this time!
