    Patch info request from newbee

I'm brand new to IL-2 Forgotten Battles and I'm not nearly as PC savvy as most of you ( as gleaned from reading about 2 hundred postings ) now for the question,..I have IL-2 Forgotten Battles v1.0 and the Forgotten Battles Exp pack v2.0 installed. While scanning Ubisoft's web sights I noticed the plethora of patches. It looks like there is one 102mb patch that needs to be installed for the expansion pack, but what about all the patches for the plain old Forgotten Battles v1.0 , do I need to install these patches also? Or does installing the expansion pack take care of all the issues of the Forgotten Battles v1.0 ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm trying to get this program optimal as soon as possible. ... thanks

I presume that by forgotten battles expansion pack you mean AEP?

If you've got aep you need to patch that up to version 2.01 iirc and that should be fine

also, be aware that some places are hosting a 2.02 patch... BUT it's not an official release, so pretty much everyone is waiting for the official one... better to hang on for that than install the unofficial one and find that its not compatible with those running the official patch... an uninstall and re-install of the game takes ages!

ps, if you fancy joining in online, then hyperlobby is essential, you'll find a link to it in the stickies.

The leaked 2.02 path is very definate not a final release. It can be considered a very late Beta. The story as far as I understand it is that it was pulled at the last minute when a problem was identified. A beta tester thought it was final and gave it to his squad mates and then on into the outside world.

Currently all you need is the 2.0 -> 2.01 patch which can be found at a number of places, UBI, 3dgames, netwings.org etc (The ususal suspects)
