| Joystick Information This thread details the most popular sticks out there at the minute and what people think of them. Generally Saitek are the manufacturer of choice for most people. www.saitek.com It seems most people have a Cyborg 3D Gold Though some of us have an X45 Throttle and Stick That said, there's such a massive range out there, the best advice anyone can give is go to the shop and play with the sticks on the shelves. As a guide, you want a stick that has, (as well as basic up, down etc), the basic functions of : Throttle Hat switch Rudder axis 8 buttons Some people like a force feedback stick, as things like stall flutter are transmitted to the stick, others prefer a smoother flight with less hunting on the keyboard for buttons and go for the all singing, all dancing X45. If you're REALLY minted, then the Thrustmaster HOTAS set-up is for you, knocking a £250 pound hole in your pocket. Thrustmaster Cougar HOTAS Some people also invest in rudder pedals, taking the strain off of doing everything by hand. CH Products have a large range of flight sim accessories which inlcudes the best rudder pedals on the market. CH rudder pedals Of course, if you REALLY get into it, you could go all the way and get yourself a Throttle Quadrant. Though more suited to multi-engined jets, there are multi-engined bombers in the game, so if you have more money than sense, one of these might be for you. Thottle Quadrant Other than that, check out the old stikcy for joysticks HERE |

| To top the "If you have more money than sense" shopping list, you might want to add this companies products: http://www.goflightinc.com/products.html I am sorely tempted to get a Cougar HOTAS, there is a slim possibility I can get hold of a brand new set for £145 from the states.. but that is still FAR too much to warrant spending on a Joystick imo.. especially as there will be no warranty :/ |
