Just made a little track of me on a strafe run.
Is not too long, about 10mins I think, I was practising strafe runs in a P-51D with 1000lbers and found the record button
![]() *CLICK CLICK, SAVE SAVE!*(452KB) What you guys think? ![]() Apart from me totally bodging it at the end (although I have just read on a really old thread that the cause of that may be the "suddenly violently rolling" bug with Cyborg sticks - I just thought this was normal stalling lol )Yes, I like hammer stalls ![]() Yes, I did have invuln' on ![]() Yes, I did have infin' ammo on

slow up lad....slow up
![]() I have 10 minutes spare...I shall give you my worldly advice ![]() Ready? Steady? Go: This game is worth every moment of your time. Dont ever regret finding it. Dont even regret getting angry. It makes everyone angry. But it is worthy. Irrespective of which joystick you have, its all about smoothness. Something that comes with time. There is no beginning to training, no middle, and no end...god, there is definately no end You'll never be perfect.Things to remember. It IS a game, but its very complex. When you yank ya stick around you WILL fall out of the sky. You will crash, spin, stall etc. Each plane IS different and some you can get away with it. Some you can't All planes have one thing in common. If you're nice to them, they'll be nice back ![]() I whole heartedly suggest you start off in a Lagg3, simply because it is smooth, reasonably fast, and if you stall, or spin, you can recover by putting your nose down, twisting your rudder opposite direction to the spin and NOT leaning the joystick sideways (ie no Aerilons) Then.....after you have flown her for a while, and tried turning tight, turning wide, diving and climbing and even landing you can get brave on some other planes. But whatever you do, fly the old/inferior planes like Lagg3's and Mig3's FIRST....dont get straight into a Spitfire of LA7...you wont understand how good they are if you do. S! pilot...and god luck

) I used to LOVE that game.. never did work out why I sold it :/ Hang on a minute... 2 of you, 1 of me, an empty MA server.. I make that Pimm's O'Clock

I make it "at work o'clock"
![]() Tell you what to do today.... make sure you have it REAL...... real engine management, no inincibility, limired ammo and fuel etc... just leave externals POSSIBLE>....just use Externals if you need...practice using ya hatswitch to look about. Set up a quick mission builder with 3 FRIENDLY bombers....make it TB-3 planes. Then start at 1000 Altitude (then you wont need to worry about mixture or superchargers) and try to shoot even one of them down. With limited ammo.

what planes you flying, and what you flying against?
A good challenge is the Hurricane Mk2 B (that has 12...count them....12 Machine guns) vs a BF109 (about F4 standard).... Your Hurri will struggle to climb with it, and will stall all over the place...but if you get onto him....he willdie ![]() If you both start at 3000 you'll see him ahead....and you gotta climb....climb....cos he will be going some...with more Energy than you. Dont forget hit W for War power in a Hurricane....use your Radiators to not overheat (R) and dont stall by turning too fast.. Its nice and (relatively) historical too. |

Just been doing it again in 'lesser' aircraft and it is more challenging - I forgot the power difference between the guns on the different airplanes made such a BIG difference ![]() Will keep practising till I can successfully disband/destroy a flight of 4 he-111's with a single load onboard a LaGG ![]() I think my joystick is pretty knackered too which isn't helping :s It's a FFB but it is CRAP for keeping the centre spot ![]() The centre 'zone' is pretty big :/ Last edited by jeNK^; 23-10-2004 at 12:33 PM.. |

It is the biggest single seat prop powered fighter ever built. Ever. Its for diving in. Fast. Hit hard.....escape. Upward. I have used it simply for good practice. It trains your brain into Energy Retention....keep your height and speed....be above the bad guy. But in a real game....its just not.....me ![]() Try a FW190 soon. Then you will know power. |

most famed for its totall Pantsness
![]() Horrible dustbin of a scrap heap ![]() Only thing it does well is carry lots of weight. Spitfire pilots used to claim the P47 pilots could take off their harness and run around in the cockpit to avoid bullets ![]() I hate it....BUT I grudgingly accept that it IS good for practicing Energy Conservation in. I believe when two of them fight against each other it is called a "Brick Fight" cos you have to throw them at each other

Actually, atleast on the documentaries I have seen, many pilots preferred it to the P-51
![]() This was mainly down to the P-51 being watercooled, often grounding the plane after only a few hits, whereas the P-47 could take a lot of damage and still be able to fly.
