Finished the model...
Sorry prop-peeps, overblown hairdryer here
![]() Roughly about 3 weeks work, and every minute a pleasure - although my better half might not agree So, here is XS903 of No5 Squadron RAF Binbrook 1984. I armed her with the earlier Firestreak armament option as most of the photos I was able to find of this aircraft in operational service showed her with the earlier missiles. All paints were Humbrol enamels, Mk4 Martin Baker seat upgraded with a generous helping of milliput, RBF tags were simply printed paper . No aftermarket items were used on this model. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

OMW - nothing short of gorgeous. This is the plane I spent my childhood dreaming of flying. The cold war warrior. All power and speed. She really looks lovely Skii, fantastic detailing.

Skii...please can we have a piccy of the seat too I love the seat.A truly aweispiring job. How on earth you do it baffles the sh1t outta me. The detail is frankly intense. Have you thought of photographing it on a mirror...? Would be good I think. No flash.....real light...and you'd see the underbelly too

Ya could've washed the bugs off the canopy before taking the pictures!
That is immensely superb, Skii... stunning..... just needs a few drops of oil on the table there from a leaky olio and it'll be done!

Yep there is at least one. I saw it on Discovery Wings a few nights ago. Privately owned iirc, based at a RAF base somewhere... the guy was going on about a US airshow where he outstripped the modern planes in vertical climbs without thinking about it...
lol, imagine the look on an F16 or SU27 pilots face as this thing goes past them at Mach 1.... vertically... |
