Teamspeak Crackle Crackle......
Hi Guys,
Thought you would be the best people to ask as you probably have the most experiance. I have some plantronics audio 90's headphones with mic but have just started using teamspeak and have been told the audio quality from my Mic is crap. What recommendations do you guys have for a nice head/mic combo (Or separate if better) to give me a nice clear voice in Teamspeak? Thanks in advance for your help

try your sound drivers bud.. d/l the latest ones... try it without mic boost on (maybe too much signal) set the .90 mic as the preferred device and set it to use only preferred devices.. set that in TS also... if it's clear in the windows sound recorder it should be fine over TS...

My Audio .90 mic is fine, not a crackle to be heard
![]() Which codec is the TS server using? Try using Speex 12.3 or above if not already as I find that to be the best on my TS ![]() If all else fails, if the cable damaged at all, or the headset had any knocks?

i used to use plantronics, which was ok until I got my audigy card - at which point the mic died for some reason.
now I use a 1995 Creative desk mic. way, way better. plus some nice comfy headphones bought in HMV for fine tuning of TS take a look at their forums. there is usually all kins of helpful tips on the discussion boards other than that, my advice is to fiddle round with your settings and your sound card software utnil it improves. Or invest in some new hardware maybe. ![]() 'Make mine a Spitfire, Landlord!' |
