    Just so you all know.

I've pulled out of the discussion of the review over at SimHQ. I just simply no longer have the time nor the inclination to carry on going over and over the same arguments when I'm up against absolute fanatics (or so they seem).

This IS only a game for christ's sake, just a game... something we PLAY in our spare time.

I'm afraid the personal attacks and outright abuse just aren't worth the hassle and time I've been spending giving reasoned answers to outraged uber-fans because I didn't climax over their latest object of love.

I will continue to review games as I find them, under the harsh light of how a consumer sees the product NOT how an avid fan sees it.

If people find my scoring to be harsh, then at least they can find it trustworthy too.

I have no hidden agendas and am not 'in anyone's pocket'.

A poor game gets a poor score.

Now, I'm going to have a ciggie, have a cuppa and go to bed.

Don't worry mate, you've done yourself proud.

Whilst there are the few that need to take a serious look at themselves and GROW THE HELL UP, there are quite a few that whilst still disagree with some points of the review, have a hell of a lot of respect for you for defending your case so elequently and professionally.

Its been an interesting 48 hours to say the least, but I believe a few rose tinted glasses have ben dislodged, and who knows, maybe the powers that be might sit up, take notice and do something about the points raised so contraversially.

Good will come of this, of this I have no doubt whatsoever.

    Arise Sir Deckard.

You did a great job mate

You will never change the true fanboi's blinkered opinion no matter how reasoned the argument - they just refuse (are afraid to?) see it.

I particularly love it when someone who has actually flown the depicted a/c in real life says that it is a reasonable depiction of the FM (or not as the case may be) & the fanboi tries to argue it from their bedroom/library experience ...

M8, I've been playing the game now for about a week.

Like you been playing IL2 since the original. And I agree with most if not all you said.
While playing PF online may add an extra couple of hours enjoyment, I'm going to get fed up with flying on anyone's wing for hours at a time, with nothing to see but sea, my wing's elevators, sea and more sea.
There's no way I could play this online in a campaign situation, using the types of missions included as standard.

sorry, but if this was supposed to attract new players to the game, its going the wrong way about it.
The only people who can be fanatical about this game, are the ones who like flying a 747 sim from London to New york, in manual, in real time.

I appreciate your efforts, and hopefully a few will also read it and realise:
    1) that if they buy the game, it needs to be patched to come up to its claims on the box.
    2) If they've already bought it, to hang on for the patch before they bin it, never to return.

    thx

Good review and well done for defending it. Im one of the occasional flight sim people and really would not be arsed sitting around for ages waiting to get someplace. Will get it eventually, just going to see how the patch works out.

Good god, there is NO pleasing some people. Score their 'love' badly and they even criticise the damn Hexus graphic used to score the game at the end of the review!

I don't blame you, mate. Well done, both for the review and for giving your time to these people who in many cases clearly were incapabable of reasoned and odjective debating. Sometimes it's better just to sigh and leave them to it!

It was a valiant fight but there was no way you could win with such narrow minded views against you!

frankly, the finest graphics ever seen, made by a pro (Az) and looking not just sharp, smart, and professional, BUT clear, concise....and Brand Image Aware.

I was staying out of this...but I cant.......

Az's graphics are quite possibly the best in the world...whats wrong with everyone?

It says 4 - If it said 10 they would be saying "& isn't that a masterful graphic"
