    new pf review

    http://www.flightsim.com/cgi/kds?$=main/review/pf/pf.htm

dont miss this wich have lines as

    qoute
I can start planes on the carrier decks, but cannot get the engines to continue running; they cut as soon as I stop pressing the 'I' key. As if this were not bad enough, I can't get the wheel brakes to release either. I haven't tried every plane, but it certainly affects many of the US shipboard fighters. Neither can I get the gear to lower on the F4F and FM-2, which rules out doing carrier landings with them as well end qoute

    and
    qoute
he lack of more sophisticated weather is increasingly obvious by its absence, particularly the absence of any kind of wind or turbulence effects, which are a major feature of flying in the real world. en qoute

    seriously!!!! http://www.flightsim.com/cgi/kds?$=m...view/pf/pf.htm

I nearly mailed him myself - a nice email, one to spare his blushes - but realised all the fanboys will already be sharpening the knives and donning the warpaint. Poor guy

As it is, if you are familiar with Forgotten Battles, a quick flip through the manual is all you are likely to need to get up to speed,

Now that would make us all cry laughing too, would'nt it....after an hour of flying to protect the dozy buggers...they fly into each other!

    Hilarious!

I hardly dare look at SimHQ or Ubi to see the responses to this...

So what is the buffeting we get in AEP and FB at certain altitudes when its cloudy? Several online servers have it. Or the fact that a FW190 at 600kph when passing an I-153 will flip it over if you get close enough.

Atmosphere....? Is that like when Tumble farted at the LAN and the room cleared? Why on EARTH is flying in a straight line for an hour and then flying back, "adding to the atmosphere"?

After playing a co-op with Dak and some of the lads from BOA (that right?) and having a random guy join, then complain we had mixed country planes on both teams, then leave - I can easily imagine some people actually enjoy the endless cruising over nothing but water

Cos those are the guys who will happily sit there for an hour, adjusting fule mix and prop pitch, trimming a little here and there and peeing in a bottle for the sake of realism.

Their idea of fun is to do that.

Fair play to them if that's how they get their kicks.

Unfortunately, IN GENERAL, these same people regard anyone who doesn't so this as an arcade junky and therefore not worth the time of day, all the while not realising that those that they demean are the self same majority whose money sees that there is enough funding to develop further games in the series.

And on a slightly different topic... I've been thinking on WHY 1C Maddox did PF. I reckon its all down to a noisy US community hollering for it. That and the fact that its gotta be a hell of a lot easier to code for lots of sea than it is to create maps for southern England (as they're gonna have to do for BoB).

Still.....the reviewer himself is subtly summed up as follows!
