    Question IL2-esque flight sims

Alright, this isn't technically about IL2, but I felt here a better place than in the general section.

I'm soon to get IL2:FB. Can't wait. Read lots about it, and it does appear to be the GPL of flight sims.

However, along with a probable joystick, I want something more upto date, yet has the same beauty and control of IL2.

So, IL2 whores: I can't believe you just play IL2. Are there are games, sorry, flight sims, encompassing modern day fighters that are on par, or near enough as good as IL2?

    WW2 and then WW1...its the way forward.....er......backward.

Hats right.....Jets are wrong. They involve shooting at someone on a laser guided computer 20 miles away....

bit like Trig flies a P39

Fair enough, guys, but I quite like idea of getting someone from 20 miles away as well as some good ol' fashioned dogfighting.

Any clues at to which titles might interest me? Cars sims I know, anything else I'm lost with.

OMG. LOMAC looks amazing. Thanks for the suggestion.

:: edit :: although, saying that, there are far too many non-flyable planes in that game, the B52, for one, that I'd wanna fly. Hmm...

Falcon 4 may be worth a look, can be found in bargain bins everywhere and with the latest patches can be made to look pretty damn good.
