It's a similiar kind of thing to the Top Gear crew filming from the back of a pick-up on the motorway as the car goes by. Just hope he remembered to switch off the radar or there would be a few warm ball sacks there!

I think I recognise the pilot so I can ask him what it was all about tomorrow at work.

Well, I can't be 100% sure if it's one of our jets. Looks like a 2 seater going by the shape of the canopy, and becuase it's minimally armed, there's a good chance that it is our squadron's.

    Cool!

It'd be great to have some more info about it

I've seen the Typhoon at a couple of shows now, and that thing is awesome (full vertical climb, from here to gone in what seem like less than a couple of seconds!), I can't wait to read how it handles against the F22 over at red flag

the Typhoon is awesome, my parents live about 3 miles away from the BAe Systems base Warton where it was tested. Used to see a few of them flying over everyday when i lived at home, some of the things they can do is awesome

    gotta love that picture

The F22 is the better aircraft mainly due to its "first strike" capability, i.e. it would see the Typhoon before it was seen (probably). However, it costs more than 3 times as much, so whether it would be better than 3 Typhoons is another matter. In a 1v1 dog fight, the Typhoon is more agile, but the F22 has vector thrusting, so it would close.

Umm, just read a bit more about the upcoming Red Flag, apparently they're only letting it fly support *with* allied forces, so we probably won't see what it can do 1 on 1

Well, I asked around work and apparently these are a couple of years old. I believe they were filming for one of the videos here, but I can't seem to see the footage in any of them.
