Will a Geforce Fx5900 Card fit into a Shuttle XPC?

    My current system stats:
    Shuttle SN41G2 XPC
    Athlon XP 2400
    1 GB HyperX 2700 DDR
    Albatron Geforce Ti4800

I am looking to upgrade my graphics card to the Albatron Gigi Geforce FX 5900 256MB Pro card, as I was quite pleased with my medusa card. The problem is that I think the card may be too big, as the heat sink appears to stick out to far to fit into the shuttle. Does anyone know if the card will fit into the system? If not, is there another Geforce Fx 5900 card that will fit into a shuttle? Or, should I just go with the radeon 9800 pro card, and if so, which card?

    Thanks for your help everyone!

Personally, having spent a few weeks reviewing the many FX and ATI cards, I wouldn't even entertain a FX chipset based GFX card.

There are loads of reviews and articles on the web that are stating there are numerious problems with the FX range and DX9. This means that HL2 and Doom3 will not perform as well on a FX card as they will on an ATI equivilant.

For this reason I opted for the Hercules ATI 9800 PRO and it fits perfectly into my SN41G2.

I appreciate your advice, Nimrod. One question on the Hercules ATI 9800 Pro- I've been checking it on the web and the cheapest I can find is around $335. Using price watch, I am finding other Radeon 9800 Pro cards for under $200. Is there a reason that the Hercules card is so much more expensive?

Also, some Radeon 9800 Pro cards I looked at don't have power supply connectors- does that make a difference on their performance?

    Thanks!

Why bother, after seeing the results of the FX in DX9 apps I won't be buying this generation FX! ATI all the way for the time being.
