Which coffee machine?

Which grinder do you use? Again just browsing, but came across these...

This is actually the grinder I bought for my Dad, it's a good grinder but there is a cut out switch for the lid which if it isn't seated far enough down won't allow you to grind beans.
Not sure if my dads is faulty but you have to put a hell of a lot of pressure on it to get it to work!

You can get good coffee or espresso within no time. Your favorite cappuccino can be prepared through this machine. I know some of my friends who prepares cappuccino with different flavors. Last week my icona decided to not work properly anymore (coffee struggling like mad to get out, not creamy at all).

Noticed on HUKD that Tesco were selling off a lot of stock so popped in and picked up a DeLonghi Magnifica damn cheap.

Got to say, the build quality on this one seems considerably better. It makes great coffee, has the wand (get a metal jug and a frothing thermometer, it can make all the difference!) and is bean-to-cup. I didn't think I would want/need BTC but got to say it makes life much easier.

Making some super tasting coffees now.

That happened to mine a few months back. The problem was that the portafilter was clogged up. When you take it appart, you will find a non return valve inside. In my case that valve had got stuck. Once I freed it, and cleaned all the dried up coffee from inside (with a toothbrush), it all worked again.

It is very easy. The portafilter is the cup like metal part that you put the coffee in, about 3.5 cm in diameter. It is not part of the main body of the machine.

If you unscrew the plastic base by hand, then you will find that it all comes apart quite easily. (You will need to peel back a rubber seal). I suggest you take it apart over a washing up bowl so you don't loose any small parts down the sink, or get coffee dregs on the dining room table ...

Once you have cleaned everything it is fairly easy to put back together in reverse order.

Also, most of the internal parts from the portafilter are interchangeable between the large and small one that came with the machine, so if one is permanently clogged, then you should be able to get it working by taking parts from the one that you don't use so often.

My Gaggia is still going, over 2 years later. Still superb. I swapped the basket in the portafilter for non-pressurised one which makes for better coffee too.

Well my machine is still going strong. My favourite coffee is beans from Union Coffee and their Revelation blend. love it with milk!!

U can save your money. <spamvertising link removed> costs only £40. If you want 2 make coffee at home 2 yourself it`s good idea, and it easy to use also.

We have a Tassimo, decent Costa style coffee. Works out about half the price of the similar Nespresso. Around 40p per cup.
