Off immediately.
Then I stick it to the wall... saves on wall paper in the kitchen.. though in summer they all slide down to make a good skirting board

What's your reason (if you're aware of having one)?
I have traumatic childhood memories of butter becoming a bit grim under butter dishes & don't think I can expunge them. So the only way I can avoid the hard cold butter (& tearing holes in the bread) situation, is to lop a bit off & leave on the bread for long enough to spread, which requires forward thinking - hence using spreadable more often then not. Savagery it may be but there we are.
Straight into the bin! Can't imagine what a pain it must be to keep it for the whole duration of the tub... That would right get on my nerves
I'm a dab hand with the microwave for softening butter, needs a deft touch.
I throw it away straight away. I keep actual butter in paper in a glass butter dish. Margarine goes in the fridge.
Has to come off right away for me, but then it becomes a power struggle in the house, because the other half likes it left on.
I used to try and keep in on there, just to see how long i could last, but then the other half kept throwing it in the bin, so now i just chuck it straght in the bin
Straight to the bin. Never had to think twice.
People keep it on? That extra second of peeling back every time sounds like too much hassle to me, first thing in the morning, trying to butter the toast.
