    Ah, here's the thing. if that cheap one you had in the 80s was Breville-branded, it was made by a completely different company than the Breville branded ones you can buy today. The originals (which you can still get in a number of territories outside the EU) are far superior to anything you can buy in the UK.

    The ones with removable plates are worth it if you're the one going to be cleaning it.
