    Not deep enough for a HDMI port, probably along the bottom edge.

    most probably an external connection box that connects to the set through some kind of proprietary lead

    I assume this will have a separate source box for you to plug everything into, then a slim proprietary connector from that to the screen.

    I very much doubt there is anything but a screen in that enclosure.
