HANNspree novelty TVs - so bad they're wonderful!

HANNspree is a name you've probably not heard of but it produces a range of novelty LCD TV sets that are so appalling that they're wonderful - and they're starting to come available in the UK on Amazon, priced upwards from a pretty stiff £198 including VAT and delivery.

Most of the models that Amazon is selling are 9.6in tellies in HANNspree's Kid-Chic range. This consists of sets embedded in soft outers that are shaped like animals.

Oh, and I've just added a poll - no room for Dog, I'm afraid, so you'll have to do a posting if you want to vote for that. Bob C

Great idea for kids, sadly the pricing is way off the mark imho.

£200 for a 9.6 inch screen? No thanks

Keep your eye on Hannspree/Hanns-G, likely to be a big player in the future .

Really not sure I know. The pics on the screens looked okay but an exhibition hall isn't the ideal place to judge and I don't know anything about the company's reputation for reliability or quality.

Specs look okay, though, I think (they're in the press release on the second page of the piece)

Have to say I had that thought too - AFTER I'd made the article live!

But, thankfully, no, it's nothing "ever so adult".

I'm Cancer, so I'd like the crab as well.

But if I could get one, I'd go for either the giraffe or zebra, kinda remiding me of Madagascar !

Re: HANNspree novelty TVs - so bad they're wonderful!

They look cool... and I wouldn't DARE do a thread revival just to put an ad link in my sig...

I'm not that daft to think that it hasn't been tried before and no-one would notice.

Which is why I'm so glad Nick helped me out with this post.

Next week at school they said I could have real scissors for cutting the plasticine.
