Sky - stick it in your sky rocket and leave viewers the choice! Grrr!
Right,
Im going to have a rant, and its no small rant either, its a proper throw my toys out of the mammas and pappas moment. I don't particularily go out of my way to watch football, the excellent match of the day on BBC does me just fine. Rugby on the other hand, rugby I watch, much like the boss here at HEXUS, we are both avid rugby fans but I have just about had it up to 9ft with Sky. I have Virgin Media, and I love it, the V+ drive is excellent and allows me to watch everything I miss when im on my travels, I can record anything I like and watch it back when I am ready. I loved it when BBC showed a recent rugby match in HD and recorded it to show people just how good HD can be. Ok so getting closer to my proper rant now, firstly Sky show rugby in HD for all the big games and at the moment I don't get them on VM, but thats no biggie as long as I get to see the game I want even at standard def thats just hunky-dory with me. What really REALLY gets me irate is when Sky start playing funny buggers, and I am not talking the ha ha ha style of viewing, I am talking of a match today, the Super 14 final between the Sharks and the Bulls from Durban, South Africa. Now the Super 14 is an excellent watch, even for the neutral, but when Sky buy all the rights to show it then make the final a bloody interactive viewing I really have lost it with Sky. I can get it if I press Red, great, but I can't press red as Sky don't give Virgin the interactive side of Sky Sports. So I miss it. Of course I can watch a repeat some time, but I want to see it live, I don't want to go on BBC and see the result before I have watched the game. WHY do Sky keep doing this again and again to their alternate subscribers. Ok so the lovers tiff between VM and Sky goes on, and rightly so, I beleive VM are in the right in all honesty, and I cannot stand this bully boy tactic Sky use. ![]() Whats more, even on the normal premiership rugby they are the same, they buy up all the exclusive rights then only televise about 25% of the games. WHY. ![]() I have just had it with Sky, I can't get rid of them because I lose the rugby completely, but for god sake, if you are going to buy up the sport at least let people watch the bloody thing. Im off for a walk, before I break something |

Yeah sky suck. Something else they do is draw you in bragging about how many live premiership football games they have for the coming season or whatever and then when they suck you in they stick a lot of the games on premPlus.
. That really hits a nerve with me personally. Your right about the red button to. Digital tv to many extents has been defined by the red button and sky making their red button service an exclusive to their customers is just plain wrong. I can't believe that some overseeing organisation hasn't been on their backs about it to ensure that everyone has fair access to interactive digital content. Thats what digital TV is all about at the end of the day. |
