Help Needed With Apple MacBook RAM Upgrade.

Hello all, I hope everyone is well.

My friend gave me their old Apple MacBook 'early 2008, late 2008' 2.1Ghz intel Core 2 Duo, 2GB 667 Mhz DDR2 SDRAM

I see you can upgrade this to 4GB which should help things along. As I have always fancied getting to know the Apple OS and the machine will only be used for light stuff I want to keep the cost down.

I have already cut of the EU plug it came with and replaced it with a UK plug to save the £20 Apple wanted for a new lead.

Looking on ebay they have "ask no questions, tell you no lies" type of no name secondhand 2x4GB RAM for about £20

On SCAN they have this Corsair Memory Value Select 4GB DDR2 SO-DIMM PC2-5300 (667)

    On Corsair website it says
"Guaranteed to work on all dual channel Intel and AMD platforms
World famous Corsair reliability and performance"

    Corsair VS4GSDSKIT667D2

Guessing Apple too, is my big question, or is there a better deal out there in the wind?

I've upgraded a number of C2D era MBPs with non-Apple specific branded RAM, never had a problem. Although I've been bitten by unbranded no-name RAM a few times in the past across a range of platforms, I don't touch the stuff any more.

Thanks, I think I will go for the Corsair. As the saying goes with the ebay stuff "You buy cheap, you buy twice"
