Xbox 360 - Spring dashboard update

Simple question really, is there going to be one? Steven, maybe you can shed some light?

In an odd sort of way, I really like the dashboard updates. If I recall, MS said there'd be one each spring and one each fall - two each year.

I like how they roll lots of funky new features into one big update and I was looking forward to seeing what the spring update would bring. However, having heard nothing about it, I'm now wondering if there will be one?

Here's to hoping they don't screw something up in the process.

Re: Xbox 360 - Spring dashboard update

The last update ("fall" update) happened in December, so if they are going to be every six months then it could be May or later for the "spring" update...

I believe LIVE is going down at 0900 hours on 21/04/08. Could this be the start of the spring update?

Re: Xbox 360 - Spring dashboard update

Well, there was an update this week - not the Spring update though. The upcoming downtime is just for maintenance. Generally when a major update is due (Spring/Fall) there's a lot of noise explaining new features/upgrades/etc. This noise hasn't happened yet so the Spring update isn't ready.

My only concern is should I hide my true identity? A costume maybe?

The latest update was to be get ready for the spring update, so there definately will be one. Whether it will actually be in spring is another matter...

I saw a video of GTAIV starting up. It takes about a minute to load, looks like it's installing to the hard disk.

This update, like has been mentioned, could be preparing for that. Hopefully it'll allow faster loading of the game, and ingame environs.
