Top Spin 3 (demo now available on Xbox Live Marketplace)

There's only one thing that comes close to the thrills and spills of a racing game, and that's a good ol' tennis game!

There's been some crackers on the 360 so far. Top Spin 2 was very good, Virtua Tennis was very good, and Rockstar's Table Tennis was just stupidly good.

Anybody played Top Spin 3 yet? I hadn't realised it was out until I noticed someone on my friends list playing it. Now I'm contemplating picking it up for myself.

Would love to hear some impressions, I don't think there's a demo available so it'd be nice to have some opinions before buying. Also, does anybody else find tennis games to be one of the best multiplayer match-ups around? When they get the game balanced (i.e. one shot or one player doesn't beat all), it can be really competitive and quite skilfull too - well, I think so anyway.

eeek, I've just had a quick look around myself and I've found feedback to be pretty positive?

Though, everyone is warning that this is a hardcore tennis sim. It's supposed to be very difficult to learn, and not the usual point and hit. Sounds challenging, but good.

I downloaded the demo but i'm yet to play it, doubt I will be buying it either as I haven't really played top spin 2 to death. I find it just gets a bit boring after about an hour!

I gave the demo a quick whirl and really enjoyed it! It's very very difficult, but I like that. Tennis games have been "hold a button and point" for quite a while - and that's all well and good, I love those games, but Top Spin 3 takes it to the next level.

It's far more "sim" than other tennis games, so I can't see the player base being that big. I reckon the majority will get white-washed for a few sets then give up on it.

Once you've learnt the new controls, I think it could get really competitive.

Yeah, I like the mechanics, but struggled to get much of a feel for the game in that demo, it didn't really last very long!

I don't see it staying at full price for long though, I'll maybe pick it up when it goes down to £20 or so.
