360 Bandwidth

Hi Everyone

I am asking this question on behalf of my parents

My younger brother has a 360 connected via Ethernet to the router tiscali supplied the problem my parents are having is the 360 appears to be hogging all the bandwidth which makes browsing unbearable the connection is 1.5mps (If this helps).

I am just wondering if it is possible to say split the bandwidth between the 360 and the laptop

what you want is QoS, and most home routers have extremely poor QoS provision

If the tiscali supplied router is speedtouch its crap Best bin it and get yourself a netgear / belkin jobby. The only time the connection should become congested is if your brother is downloading demo's, games etc from marketplace. Make sure as well that its all done within the correct times. Otherwise you'll get your speed chopped.

BTW, It is a Crappy Speedtouch, Tiscali kindly rebranded so only found out when i turned the bloody thing upside down!!!

nah... Be do the same, calling there speedtouches BeBoxes, crap indeed. your not going to see the results of switching one for a netgear as your not on Be, so go for whatever gets the good reviews generally.
