Multiple Xbox Live gamertags possible?

Is it possible to have more than one gamertag on Xbox Live that you can switch between? The reason I ask is that I want to create a gamertag for use with work colleagues for online gaming and want to keep this separate from my usual gamertag.

as far as i know, your xbox live subscription is tied to your gamertag, rather than your console. In order to have two gamertags on Xbox live, you would need to have 2 separate subscriptions.

correct. I have four gamertags, but I can only go online with one of them. The one I've paid for!

Tying Gold Live subscriptions to gamertags is basically just another way Microsoft make so much money, I still love my 360 though

database design wise it is the most logical way of doing it tho.

I would think the number of people with multiple gamertags would be very small compared to the total number of people using XBL.

I actually like the system, as it means that I can go to my mates house, recover my gamertag and play online as me, rather than as his guest.
