Not worse, just when you play Forza and you are used to a control set and then they release the latest edition of the game and they switch the controls on you, it takes you a while to get used to it. Although there is something about Forza 3 that just doesn't sit right with me and I can't put my finger on it. Forza 2 feels a lot better to me. Will have to put some time into it and see what its like once I get used to it.

Downloading at the moment. Thanks for the heads up

Hoping I don't find it to odd, I've been looking forward to this for ages now.

Odd isn't necessarily bad. I didn't like the handling of Forza 2 for example. Will be interesting to see what impressions are after aclimatising.

cant you customize the control layout? i admit, i really loved forza 2 when i first played it but when i started playing these pc racing sims it was like night and day and never got back into forza 2.

It most definitely had a different feel to it than that of Forza 2. What's ground effect mean Madduck? There something there that I can't put my finger on. I've been round with all the cars twice now and I'm starting to get used to and I can see myself getting into like I did with Forza 2.

I think because it's running at 60FPS that it seems somewhat strange as well.

    forza 2 ran at 60fps,

and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ground_effect_in_cars or if you cant be bothered reading - a bit of sucking

edit: track is starting to feel similar to autumn valley, and the AI on hard makes you drive pretty aggressive which is good, still not feeling any lateral movement though

    Re: The Forza 3 Thread

You to madduck? There is something about this and it could be that I keep hearing their marketing patter niggling away at me talking about their cockpit view being the best yet. I don't seem to feel connected to the car, the lack of feedback to the controller doesn't help, you can see the car bobble about when you hit the dips in the road and you get next to no feed back. I get no sense of speed with the cars either, to me it seems either the demo was rushed/cut massively or they spent so much time making it look good that it just doesn't have the same feel to it that Forza 2 did.

I don't think I will see myself buying this on day of release, probably due to all the other games I have on pre-order at present that land around the same time. This doesn't feel like forza to me.

    Re: The Forza 3 Thread

havent used cockpit, went straight to bumper cam

i have nailed it down now though, when the tail kicks out, rather than the arse trying to swap places with the face the car tries to correct itself, like its got a tail fin and is trying to get back into the direction of travel (this is with the california btw), when you get tapped on the back quarter rather than feeling light and starting to spin it just alters the direction momentarily then snaps back, even if you keep giving it full throttle.

still getting it release day (hopefully sooner), but im a bit annoyed they seemed to have made it "stupid proof"

It does have that feel that they have toned it down a lot to get more arcade racers on board. Try the Porsche it's even worse, the doesn't feel right like you said with being tapped, full throttle on the Porsche the car corrects itself like you say it doesn't try to spin you out.

well putting a good spin on bad news, at least the RWD cars will be somewhat more competitive now so we should see a better mix of cars on multiplayer, even if they have done it in totally the wrong way.

The scary thing is that I am finding myself actually preferring the cock pit view on NFS Drift and the feedback you get from that with everything turned off. You feel the car start to go when you are due to lose control. Also not keen on the rewind feature on Forza 3, if you make a mistake it should punish you for it.
