Patents for the sake of it

When is this paten cr@p gonna stop?

I haven't read the full patent text I admit, but they usually cover all extreme applications of the core abstract anyway. But for Apple to patent the use of a finger on a touch screen interface to switch on/off airplace mode and for the signal indictor to indicate the action..... ARGH!

I think Apple was using that one in the 1980s,but in the end what Xerox did caught up with them, eventually.

Nope, or that wouldn't be an issue Samsung et al couldn't care less what Apple do on an ipad, it's the cross-device application that's worrying - so you can't swipe across in that particular manner for that purpose on any device fitting the description.

Really despise how Apple is going after different companies with stupid lawsuits "It has a screen which you press that is breaking out patent" and "it's a mobile phone, which we invented, and boo hoo they're coping us" Wish the courts would just throw it out, and impose a fine on Apple for wasting our time.

It does make you wonder if there's an apple fanboy in the US patent office... Not that I would ever try to imply that curruption is involved in massive US corporations...

They're just escalating the patent war with Google, and I fear that even Google are somewhat naive in the mobile comms domain.

I think we can rule that out - absurd patents abound in USPTO, not just from Apple.
