    W950i problems

I know a few others have this phone so was hoping for some advice. Firstly can any else get album art to transfer to the phone ? Using Disc2phone and with gracenote working i get full track listing but never the album art.
Also mine keeps losing time , sounds ridiculous but over a 2 week period time on the phone will lose on average 5 mins has anyone else found this ?
    Cheers

I don't have the phone, i have a P990i. It pulls the album art from the ID3 data in the MP3. I don't know if there is music transfer software for the P990, i just copy it to \music on the memory card and tell the media player to re-scan.

Have you checked to see of there is a newer software version using the SE Update Service?

There is an update available but it asks you to remove the battery and then put it back in before starting the update was worried it would format it as there is no removable memory and everything is stored on an internal HD

No it won't wipe the memory. Everything is portioned up inside the phone. The flash memory space used for music storage is completely seperate from the flash memory used to store the OS and software.

I've updated several SE phones without a problem and without loosing any data from them.

If you are worried about it, then back everything up. I don't know if the W950 has software to do this as standard, but you could look at Floats Mobile Agent, it might support that phone now.

actually now that i've said all that, i've just updated my P990 and it wiped all my contacts, texts, call logs etc.

Not really a big deal, contacts and calendar are on outlook and everything else i'm not bothered about.

I know the w950 is a symbian phone with UIQ3 as well, so if you want anything kept, back it up just in case.

you mean you don't back it up anyway?! Always a good idea to have a copy.

Does this update thing work with "branded" phones without breaking anything? I have a w850i and I noticed that it's clock lost a chunk of time the other day. If it's been gradual I've been getting up later and later! I got the feeling it was a sudden loss of time.

All SE phones are covered in the updates, whether branded or not. The update downloaded last night was "P990i - O2 UK".

I have to say, the phone seems much more responsive than it did before.
