| music for mobile Just taken delivery of a 2 Gb card for my phone, after installing apps etc I expect to ahve about 1.5 gig of space left and I want to shove some music on it. As its a PPC I can play just about any codec around, what codec should I use, and what settings for ripping or re-encoding? Hopefully this thread should be OK, if not delete asap. cheers Flibb |

| Junior Senior Member | I use Ogg Vorbis, but eAAC+ is pretty good for cramming as much music as possible on your phone too. Both are great at low bitrates. If you're planning on anything above about 160kbps, I'd stick to MP3. The quality difference at higher bitrates is hardly noticeable and MP3 doesn't drain the battery so fast as other formats as it puts less strain on the CPU. |

| Like what aaron said mp3 is normally the best bet, since most devices support this and would be so much easier in the long run to use, from one device to another. And with that much space i dont think compression is much of an issue or unless your planning on taking a "music archive" with you. |

| Oopps forgot about this thread, have been busy loading and unloading stuff from the phone. Have started using WMP11 on the PC, and its suprisingly good. Has a shuffle mode for uploading to the phone. |
