Re: What phone and why?
As with stoo.
iPhone, because it was finally nearly at a sensible price. The fact its unlockable and can be jail broken made it a done deal. No phone I've ever used comes close to this. |

Re: What phone and why?
I have an LG U830 because it looked best out of the ones that 3 were offering. I hate it and I'll change it as soon as I can. The bloody thing keeps on turning itself off!! People will say to me that they've been trying to call me and when I check the phone there it is, off again. Turn it back on and there's loads of power in the battery, it's just the sodding phone has decided that it doesn't want to be on.
My wife has an HTC Orbit which is lovely and if I could use it with my 3 sim I'd get one of those tomorrow. Unfortunately the 3G equivalent as far as I can see is the HTC Touch Cruise which is waaaaaay out of my price range for the time being. |

I don't own a Sony Erricson K850i but I do think you can't go far wrong with it, had a play on my friends one a fair amount of time and the camera can't be beaten for a quick snap on a night out for example! Also great to blind people with the flash by holding the shutter down half way till the led light turns off then shoving it in someones face

Re: What phone and why?
I've still got the original nokia 8800, also have the 8600 (the luna). But I'm exchanging it for 8800 arte. In fact I already have the arte right now! Just need to take my 8600 for it to be cancelled.... As you can probably tell, I prefer looks rather than function.

I use this with a Dual-SIM battery. ![]() http://flickr.com/photos/nxtiak/2676234273/ http://www.gsmarena.com/ericsson_t39-252.php Being using it for years - does what it says on the tin! No camera, but it makes telephone calls and sends/receives SMS. john |

Re: What phone and why?
I got rid of my iPhone and N95 and picked up the Nokia E71 last month and its great.
Sound good. Functions amazing. Build quality is the best i have seen. QWERTY Keypad is very easy to use. POP3 email access is really good. SAT NAV is exceptional (and free). Best battery life i have ever had. Its more of a business phone but still has all the 'fun' features. The only down side is the camera. Its only 3.2mp. Still takes good photos but they really shouldve added the 5mp. |

Re: What phone and why?
Yeah if I got a Nokia now I think I would get the E71 too. I used to have an E61 and liked it but the E71 looks fantastic. 2 colleagues of mine own one and love it.
I currently own an HTC Diamond Touch which has been great since the new firmware came out. The compact size for a touchscreen smartphone as well as it's high res screen are winning features. Only a 3.2mp camera as well though. There's an unbelievable amount of content available for it over at XDA Developers. The new Touch HD is looking even better though... bigger screen, more memory, better camera etc etc. |

I'm now using an XDA Orbit, battery life is more like one day! On the plus side tomtom 6 runs great (only crashed once in 1 year of usage) and there is wifi to check emails too. |
