Help choosing a mobile to tide me over until something I want comes out!

Ok, having been through 2 vario 3's (as has a friend of mine) and then being mucked around by t-mobile (who have now cancelled my upgrade so I am no longer in contract) I need help finding a phone to tide me over.

I will need a phone that makes calls, sends texts and can sync easily with my outlook (on vista...). It will then be replaced by a new iphone (when the 3g ones appear) or whatever else comes out at catches my eye.

So what do you recommend? Good value and sim free?

    Current iPhone and jailbreak it?

£109 and you'll get used to the menu before the new 3g version arrives.

Nokia 6300 is about £70 now and is a bloody brilliant phone! Got everything you need without having extras like cooker/dildo/skateboard that you never use!

The 6300 is a good basic phone. Its my 2nd phone, and with T-Mobile. Slim, neat and does everything you need even a camera.

Got it as my main phone and love it. Only other phone I would have is an N95 and IMO they are too complicated and chunky for everyday. Other thing to note is all the builders, plumbers and other tough jobs who break phones on a regular basis have 6300's so that must say a lot!

I thought it was £100 if you did, £60 if you didn't?

Thanks for the 6300 recommendation. I grabbed one the other day and it is a cracking little phone, especially in black!

Nope it was £100 if you take out the contract, and then this was later reduced to £60.

Have to take the contract to get the cashback

at £169 its still a good buy though if you can get one - good residuals too, even with a 3G launch you should still be able to get over £100 for it on ebay.
