    Lee, I changed my product code to EURO1 but it wont let me update its firmware to v21, only v20 is available, what program did you use for the update?

    cheers

    When you are changing the product code just make sure you take a note of the original code by pressing read. Keep that somewhere safe. Should there be any problems then just set it back with nemesis and just mentioned that the update killed it, i'm pretty sure you wont void your warranty.

    *caution* after updates never restore your old settings cuz it'll kill your phone. if you did kill your phone then when you restart it, it will say phone start up fail contact retailer. turn it off then turn it back on and keep pressing (not press and hold) the end call (red) button. then when the screen is load type *#7370# for a hard reset and voila everything works again.

    Just did mine and v20 rocks! very responsive all the menus and fast!!

    Good luck

    I'd highly recommend you try Sygic McGuider:

    McGuider: Mobile navigation throughout Europe.

    Cost is around £50, but with that you get full street level Tele Atlas Maps of Western Europe and some Eastern European countries. Works flawlessly with the integrated GPS of the N95 8GB too.

    Re: Best Sat Nav software for an N95 8gb / And resetting firmware.

    Thanks all! Nice info. I still haven't done anything major with it yet. I got some music and movies on it and added my contacts.

    Does anyone know how to make the best quality movies? I have one film I converted to AVI from DVD and it's nice quality, but I converted it to work on the phone using a guide I found on the net, and it was quite good, and nice full screen, but it went a bit pixelated I don't really know what I'm doing so I don't know what is best, XVID, DIVX, MP4x, or what.. Anyone know the ultimate solution?

    As for the updates and Sat Nav, I'll try that this week

    there is a patch out there, well, its not really a patch i suppose to make tomtom work with the n95's internal gps. whether or not tomtom support it natively yet im not sure (before i thought they did) but either way i tried this out and it works well. garmin is good but im just more familiar with the tomtom interface, i prefer it

    to be fair, Garmin's user interface is really poor compared to the other sat nav programs.

    I used the nokia software which is available from their website download section which can be located here ;

    Nokia UK - Phone software updater

    The version which has been put on mine is showing as the following using the usual *#0000# code ;

    V 21.0.0.016
    14-02-08
    rm-159

    Please note, mine is the standard N95 with the microSD slot, not the 8Gb model and as such the nokia software might be updating the newer phones with a different firmware.

    I might have a read about the TomTom and see if I can get that working with the internal GPS. If not I'll get the garminXT. I'm assuming the dodgy interface isn't a big problem once you get used to it, but I've used TomTom before so I should probably have that as my first choice.

    Main thing I've been doing on it so far, is getting films to work on it. I converted a few and they looked great, but in a few scenes (like a big explosion), the explosion was quite blocky. Not sure if I can fix that. The software I use (Super) asks if I want to render the file optimised for either DIVX, DX50, FMP4, MP4V, or XVID. I picked all the other settings to match a guide I read on the net, but the guide didn't mention anything about that optimising stage, so I might be able to improve the quality with different settings. I love being able to watch a film on my phone like that :O

    The battery life seems pretty good too, although I haven't watched a full film yet.
