Agree totally, have to say I was very nearly tempted when it went down to £169 too, I was watchign the thread here with great interest! In the end though decided on somethign else, but that's not to say I wouldn't have an iphone - in fact the 3g one looks awesome. There are still a few bits I'd like to see on it though, but then again, you can say that about any phone!!!

The iPhone is by far the 'best' phone I've had...and it syncs with my iMac really well.

I'm going to get the £159 16GB version since I'm on the 35quid/month plan - especially since I will have to shell out for the next iPhone..might as well enjoy the extra space for more photos, music and applications

I use Macs, since I'm happy with them...but I wouldn't call myself a 'fan boy' per say...but YMMV. I just find the iPhone a darn good phone - it's so much better than Sony's OS, or even UIQ.

I agree mike, however the lack of wireless syncing is poor. Especially when my old nokia did it fine on os x.

Love my iPhone, even more so after I jailbreak'ed it, swapping themes and installing apps. Don't use MMS or camera conversations, so not too inclined to upgrade to the new one. I'll wait a bit to see the reviews on the new GPS system on it, as Tom Tom is releasing a version for the iPhone.....and that'll complete the phone for me. I still currently have a N95, but only use it for Tom Tom, if the new iPhone with Tom Tom works fine, then the N95 will go in the bin.

Am I right in saying the new version that I'm seeing as released on 11th July from Carphone Warehouse, is it possible to bypass the contract activation as it was on the last? Don't suppose speciffics should be discussed, as yes or no will surfice. Thanks

Unfortunately not - but you can always get the PAYG iPhone and pwn that instead

    Mac Pro, 2x Quad core 2.8ghz Xeon, 512mb 8800GT, 4gb DDR2 FB-Dimm
Macbook, 1.8ghz Core Duo, 2GB Ram, Superdrive
    iPhone 2G 2.0.1

To me the iPhone is a good phone but as with almost all Apple products, you don't get what you are paying for.

Example - My LG Viewty, same features plus 5Mp camera, MMS, 3G but minus WiFi

Cost me £240 with no contract. I don't see why the iPhone is worth the extra money at all
