Linux Mobile Phone
http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2008/07...oko_os_hanset/
Apparently on sale tommorow, but seams a bit pricy for a phone without a camera. I wounder how snappy it will be? WM and Symbian seam to be content to have a poorly written slow to respond UI. That said, it looks like they've just ripped of the basic WM look from the only screenshot...... ![]() |

Re: Linux Mobile Phone
I may get one, I've been looking for a decent small device that allows me to write software for without being forced into java. I'm not bothered with the lack of pin-hole camera, I have a real one for taking photos tyvm.

To stay a bit more on topic, as far as I'm aware there have already been a few Linux based phones released in the Western markets. The Motorola razr being a good example. I know that in Japan a large proportion of the market is made up of Linux phones. Apart from that I don't know how open they are in terms of allowing you to make software. Also aidanjt, I guess you're going to hate android phones then. 100% java APIs ![]() |
