It should be easily added via a software update, but it should have been there from day 1.

Plus its not compatible with normal bluetooth kits and car phone stuff. Battery replaceable? Nope. Camera is still 2MP, hows the flash support as well now?

Nope.. no MMS support still, no flash support either.

I think the main problem that people dont cotton onto is that Apple are aiming this phone squarely at the enterprise... because every MD and sales monkey want to be seen with an iphone... hence the exchange intergration and blackberry-like management services.
Its still not perfect but v2 of the software has allowed me to drop my WM6 brick and go back to the iphone to use for work (previously personal phone but went back to N95)

My annoyances with Exchange sync so far: only pushes inbox.. i cant subscribe to folders i want to recieve and be notified about.. and when your a sys admin getting emails right left and centre i NEED to have them filtered to the right folders.

There is a third pary app MMS available for 1.1.14, and hopefully 2.0 once the Jailbreak is released - Full Flash should be coming soon as well (http://www.iphone-hacks.com/2008/07/...to-the-iphone/)

3G Strength is very week with the new iPhone

Re: O2 and IPhone 3G...here yet?

I was hoping the 3G iPhone would blow me away and make me sign up for the ridiculous 18 month contract, but it turned out to be a load of pants to be honest.
They added GPS which fair enough is useful for some, but I wouldn't use it much.
And then it has faster speeds, but then again most of the time I'd have access to wifi which makes the 3G speeds not that important.

If they dropped the price of the old iPhone and its plan then I would definitely get one, but sadly thats not the kinda thing Apple do

Shock! It isn't like we weren't expecting that to happen

From what i've read, the iPhone 3G hardware is very close to the original, little more than upgrading to a 3G radio and adding GPS. The non-phone parts get a revision upgrade to take them to the iPod Touch standard and that is about it.

No wonder they can afford to change the tarrifs this is available on.

Of course it was going to happen, it's just I wasn't expecting it so soon, it's as if Apple didn't even try and stop people from jailbreaking it this time around.
If people can get JB working with AppStore apps, which looks very likely, then piracy ahoy! Surely Apple will be very pissed off with that.
It just makes no sense to me.

Anyway, even the cheapest 3G plan is a rip-off! £30 for 75mins? what?!

The beta iPhone 2.0 software has been around for ages now hasn't it? So the Iphone Dev Team have had something to work on for getting Jailbreak working on the new handsets.

I missed out on the chance for a handset - I missed out by one - however o2 said that they should be having a weekly delivery - yet they cant confirm dates

Calling every morning at the moment and nothing so far.

I paid for mine last Friday (16GB) and CPW now say that I should call tomorrow to check, latest Friday delivery.

The rep on the phone said they are expecting a delivery of thousand units to fill back orders..
