o2 can't receive text message from abroad

Has the title says my wife's o2 contract sim cannot receive txt messages from the philippines. it worked once months ago but it has stopped working now. i tried using different phones, tweaking the GSM settings and still no joy.

o2 are pretty useless when talking to them has they still think its not there problem even though it blatantly is. maybe someone here knows why

i myself is on t mobile and i can recieve txt messages without a problem but my wife cant.my wife however can send text messages to the philippines and even call them, its just that it doesnt receive txt from the philippines.

Any suggestions? thanks in advance and hope someone can help because my wife is pissed gave the o2 guys a right bolloking

odd. I had the oposite problem with O2, i could recieve calls and texts from Angola, but couldn't send or call to there.

i tried my cusins o2 sim and he too cant recieve txt messages from phili looks like a o2 problem then. gunna send a official complaint to them

Surely it would be best to start with a quick call to CS to see if they can help first?

A friend of mine had this problems a few years back, turned out he needed to use a different message centre number i think, plus some network setting.

message centre number? umm i have called CS and even visited there shop and there all saying the same thing. they cant find out what the problem is. i have just found out that not only cant my wife recieve txt, but also voice calls too

Have you wife contacted the mobile provider she is using in the philippines. They might be able to find out if there any issue their side. Also has she tried txting other people who are on other networks e.g vodaphone, 3 etc

O2 will say it's not there problem it's an issue with the providers over there.

yea i have tried another phone and its the same thing. we have asked our family there in philippines to contact there network and apparently the main O2 centre in germany i think is having problems recieving txt's from various countries

Well at least you got to the bottom of the problem now did they give you a sort of time frame it should be sorted or just a typical when it's done it's done?
