Li-Ion Polymer Battery Charging?? Advice please??

Hi i just replaced the Li-Ion polymer battery for my phone. I was wondering if you guys could give me any tips of how to maintain the battery life of the battery??...over the internet i've seen many mixed comments about this.

    1. How should i charge the battery for the first time...leave it until it reaches 100% then just use it all up and charge again OR leave it on charge for several hours then use??

    2. I've heard that the battery should be on charge for as long as possible (the battery won't overheat if its from the original manufacturer)..or rather if i have the opportunity to charge it, i always should (so it should be on charge when i'm at home etc.) Is this true??

    3. Is it normal for the battery to run out quicker than normal after it has been charged once?

Thanks in advance for your replies!

If you fully charge it then fully discharge I've heard it lengthens the life expectancy as your not theorectically charging it over and over.
