    W00t n96!

Got my N96 today curtosy of O2 as an upgrade. £35 a month, 600mins, 500txts and unlimited (fair use blah blah) data. 18 months (I know I moaned) but hey. N97 by then!

    £50 for the phone too!

As Borat would say, "Is nice"

Got a full episode of Top Gear and Dr Who on it. Now I just need it to play XVID or DIVX and I'll be rocking Probably have to convert it though.

DivX player for S60 based phones but it might not work due to certificate expiry

there is a downloadable player at http://mobile.divx.com/divx but I cannot check as that domain is blocked here at work.

How is the GPS reception? My E90 was utterly shocking... decent plan they've got you on though, it finally sounds like consumer data plans are becoming affordable in this country! About time too!

You should just be able to set your phone date to a time before the certificate expired, install the app, run the app, then put your date forward again

i had a play with my bosses one today, i dont rate it that highly though it feels nicer than my n95 8gb, i think i was mostly put off by the whole firmware re-branding it had as its a vodaphone one, out of curiosity can u turn that all off? i know on certain themes that change the icons etc you can set theme effects off and it defaults can you do that with the vodaphone theme icons etc?

Bah 1 dead pixel. Thats a point do the IFC whatever standards cover mobile phone screens or just TFT monitors? Where it has to be a number of dead pixels before it can be sent back.

So far, the phone is great. Its a bit wider than the N95 (original) which I had. It now has auto rotation and a key guard flick switch. It feels a lot more refined and grown up than the N95, 16GB of memory should suffice for a while, I bearly used the 2GB SD card in the N95 (it takes the same micro SD cards).

Nokia have changed the connection on the bottom to a non standard USB connection, which is stupid. I loved the normal USB connector on the N95.

Screen is lovely, I watched the Dr Who episode last night and it was all good, sound and picture decent enough. My firmware isn't branded as its O2. You probably could go to a Nokia shop and get it flashed to a generic firmware.

Hows the quality of the camera? I was a bit dissapointed with the picture quality from the N95 initially, although by the 3rd firmware upgrade it wasn't too bad.
