texts not getting through between two specific numbers?

Hi,

My mum and my sister are both on Vodafone. Recently, and for no apparent reason, they suddenly became unable to text each other. The texts simply aren't delivered. They can send and receive texts with everyone else just fine, but not with each other.

Both have complained to Vodafone, who's only response is to establish that since each handset can send a text to itself, then it's a handset fault, not a network issue.

My sister uses a Nokia (6500 I think, but not sure) on a contract, while my Mum uses a Samsung D600 that I donated to her when I finished my Vodafone contract, although my Mum is PAYG.

If my Mum takes her sim card out of the D600 and puts it in her ancient Nokia, the texts from my sister will get through - suggesting it is indeed a handset issue.

But what on earth could stop the D600 from receiving texts from one specific number, and is there any way of resolving it?

D600. Highlight a text message. Click the options button. Hit the up arrow accidentally. Click "select". Voila, "Block" has been selected instead of "Delete" or whatever the option is supposed to be.

Go into the SMS settings into the Block menu. You may have to scroll - the person blocked could be towards the bottom of the otherwise empty list. It only takes a minute or two to figure out once you know to look in the SMS options and to scroll down if necessary.

D'oh! Why didn't I think of that?! (Probably because I wasn't aware the D600 had a text settings menu within the messages, I had always looked at the top level settings menu). It's all sorted now - many thanks.
