    Sony Ericsson K800i issues

Anybody experienced these mobiles where the battery is drained after two days. It used to last a lot longer than two days now all of the sudden it is in the read just after two days. I think I need a mobile upgrade.

After about a year batteries in phones start to deteriorate, doesn't matter whether its Nokia, samsung, Blackberry or anyone else. Best bet would be buy a new battery for it online, you can get official SE batteries for about £12.

As Ferral said, the battery in any mobile deteriorates over time virtually regardless of how heavily it is used.

How old is your handset? If it is more than 2 years old I think you're just experiencing battery wear and a new battery or a phone upgrade is in order.

My two year old K800i is still going strong and has a battery life of almost a week.

I had a similar problem with the phone a few months after buying it, suddenly the phone's battery life dropped to less than two days, the phone was also much warmer than usual. I decided to back all my data up to the PC in case the K800i blew up but the PC wouldn't recognise the phone over USB.

The phone was still under warranty so I sent it off for repair, after three weeks [insert rant about Orange customer service here] my repaired K800i returned in working order, according to the repairs list a faulty USB transceiver was replaced.

One thing to take into account, is where have you been with the phone.

If youre in a weak signal area, the battery will drain faster as the phone ramps up the power to get a better signal.

That said, my K800i lasts about 5 or 6 days between charges and i dont get the best signal at home.

I used to get 2-3 days on my k800 with reasonable usage. If i left it and hardly used it, got about a week and a half, noticed this after contract was ending.
