Corrections and non-rumour-mill additions welcome (i.e. anything with only a codename like "sholes" is banned, something the manufacturer admits exists would be a good start)

Rumour is you want the Motorola Sholes, once it appears and goes from a silly codename to a four-letter ABRV

Judging by what's been leaked, WinMo 6.5 is a big step forward from WinMo 6 but hasn't reached the standard of Android or the iPhone. WinMo 6.5.1 is another step forward, but with 6.5 not being officially launched yet, you're going to have to wait a while for 6.5.1, perhaps it'll be all that it should be.

I was meaning to give one a poke some time soon. don't know anyone with one though (it's a pretty expensive handset - i blame the 8 gig integrated memory)

In all seriousness, do you think Winmo 6.5 will suck as bad, suck less, be OK or good?
Just curious as a Winmo user since 5 first came out I think it sucks as a Phone OS.

The new Archos tablet looks nice, I can see Android making further waves in the MID and phone markets, its a good open source platform and is proving very malleable for phone manufacturers to develop their own interface on top of the basic os.

Still oh-so happy with my HTC Hero

Just been looking at it. It would of been the phone of choice to move to from my G1 if it had the hardware keyboard that slides out. The majority seem to be going to the touch screen keyboards and the G1 doesn't implement it greatly.
