Orange SPV original.....max siz SD card?

Hi guys

Im after a orange SPV SD card, i had the E100 and it was damn nice, but i had to sell it, now got a new nok 7600 and am using it, but an original SPV has come up for grabs, so i might get it and use it as a second phone as its the same as the E100 Afaik apart from the shape

anyway, to my point, whats the max memory thatll work in a SPV ? Will it be 128, 256 or 512? or even a GB....also will a standard one work ? or will it need to be formatted for a phone as opposed to a camera?

a lot of bug fixes on the e100 mate, probably will be horrible to use the normal. Pick up a c500 for ~£140 on pay as you go well worth the money

i know mate, but 140 is far too much for me, especially as i will hardly use it, its a second phone, i got a contract which will be used constantly, this is for my old PAYG sim as most people have my old number and can contact me

works out to about 60 quid for me, for a SPV, 512 SD and camera attatchment, and that cant be bad, just hope the card works...

The only thing I'd suggest is to download the lastest firmware/update thing from orange. Peice of cake to unlock too - mine was running my freeby o2 sim.

will do, ive unlocked them before, there suprisingly easy seing as they were supposedly 'orange only', ive got an o2 sim too, any idea where you can get the grps and wap settings from ? i doubt the os2 site will have them as your not supposed to be able to get it on o2....but i wudnt mind msn messenger on the go

Now for the internet.....

Connect to: Internet
Access Point: wap.o2.co.uk
username: o2wap
password: password
primary/seconday DNS: 0.0.0.0
IP address: 193.113.200.195

In the "data connections" screen use these settings to connect to "wap connection"

I'm almost sure the SPV could take specific manufacturer 1GB SD cards (as can my mpx 200) and they both run WM 2002 smartphone. Besides the point I saw someone in a phone shop with a SPV who claimed to have a 1gb card inserted, so I'll take his word.. however i recall reading some SPV models are dodgy with card accessing/writing and are very picky about what cards they like and dislike
I was gonna get a SPV E200 a while back, but got the mpx 200 instead as the e200's were out, and couldn't be happier

512 works fine here, got 4 hours of tv encoded on here and 4 albums, mucho pleased !

Give this a whirl then:

first of all delete all your proxy connections, dialup connections, GPRS etc.

first go into proxies and add a new one as follows:

name: 02 proxy
connects from: The internet
connects to: WAP network
proxy (name : port): 193.113.200.195
type: wap
username: o2wap (notice the use of small caps. "o" NOT "0"
password: password

next make a new GPRS:

name: 02 wap
connects to: The internet
access point: payandgo.o2.co.uk
username: payandgo
password: password
primary dns: 0.0.0.0
secondary dns: 0.0.0.0
ip: blank

next, make a new dialup:

name: 02 csd
country code: 44

set the internet connection to use: 02 csd
wap connection: 02 wap

all the others are set to none available on mine...

Set internet explorer to automatically detect settings
and the select network bit to: the internet
