Talking My new mobile - Motorola V3

    Hello guys!

I woke up fairly early today to pick up my new mobile, eXpansys really ship 'em quick!

It is smaller than I expected, amazing screen and wow...love the keypad. I had a few issues with Bluetooth but that's cause I wasn't using ThinAir on my G5 - I will try it when I get back and see if I can move over a MP3 ringtone (it would be the 4th Naruto opening - Go!!! by Flow) and currently got the 'Sushi' wallpaper, must work on something sexy for it

It is 1320hrs now and I can not wait to get back and play with this a bit more. Will post back with some pics of course.

Just got back from Uni, still not gotten over the flu.

ThinAir does work - yay - not amazingly great but gets the job done. Been able to move two images and currently uploading the ringtone.

This is what I ordered: http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=116117

I'm contemplating returning the BT headset, as I don't see my self using it much.

I'm gonna work on a decent wallpaper for the V3 and will report back with some images and a mini-review after I've had a proper play with it.

    Envy = Me
If I ever get a mobile capable of mp3 ringtones I'll probably have Bomb a Head by m.C.At.

Tenjou Tenge rocked I might put that on some time. I've settled with Aoi no Requiem (Samurai Deeper Kyo OP Theme) as it kicks into the song in like 2 - 3 secs as a default file with no editing...

The phone has only 5.5MB space for ringtones (which sucks loads) so I may take to editing the mp3s to 1minute segments at some point.

This is the wallpaper I'm using:

It looks much nicer on the phone. Once fully charged I'll take quite a few pics...

If you are looking for a good freeware audio editing app try audacity.sourceforge.net. It does direct editing of MP3 files if I remember correctly.

I've uploaded a few things for others that own a V3 as well.

Firstly - ThinAir for Mac owners, supports OBEX such that you can now upload applications etc to the mobile.

Two ringtones (for any mobile) as MP3s: Aoi no Requiem (Samurai Deeper Kyo OP) & Hikari e (3rd One Piece OP)

My first ever 'personal' mobile was the Nokia 7110 (iirc) - the Matrix phone, which was a nice 'design' but the unit I got was so flawed I ended up returning it to the company I purchased it from for a full refund (in Colombo). My second phone was a Siemens SL45 which I got here when I first came to Uni via a Voda contract - Was a cool phone which is now dead and somewhere in my room at home

Was last using a T610 - It is a nice 'design' and I'm sure if it was a T630 I would be happier, but it's slow and oh well I thought it was time for a change.

The V3 is simply gorgeous and even though the menu system is 'initially' awkward, once you get used to it - it isn't so bad.

How can they make this a killer phone?

    a) SD Slot - deffo!
    b) Dock connector @ the bottom - I just like having docks...
    c) The top mini screen should be made bigger, i.e. size of the whole black area

Still this is the StarTac of 2004...
