The Confusing-ness of Compact Flash Cards :(

Hmm been staring at various Compact Flash cards for a while(around the past hour) , and since I just bought a Nitendo DS i need a Compact Flash card to use with it so I can begin playing music and watching some videos on it. However I am completely stumped as to be able to distinguish the difference between a 256mb Compact Flash Type 1 card, and a type 2 alternative.

the problem is my DS will only take Compact Flash Type 1 cards, and I don't want to end up buying a 2 by mistake, anyone got any clues as to how to tell? I spotted this one which im thinking of going for, any ideas on its type?

    SanDisk 256mb

Type 1 cards are simple storage cards (the card you linked to is one of these), whereas Type 2 are IO cards eg. bluetooth adaptors.

Type 2 cards are also microdrives. Little tiny hardrives.

They use their own type of memory stick. I'm sure that in 6 months there will be a MMC/SD adaptor available but until then you've got no choice then to buy nintendo's own

DS does not read compact flash, but if you take a nose around on www.lik-sang.com you'll find a GBA Movie Player for a resonable £12 ish, which allows DS to read CF cards and playback proprietary movies, music, ebooks and nes roms off the card
