    Wat PDA?? Recommendation needed!

I just into the PDA world for a short time, so i don't have much experience. I just sold my MDA Compact and now looking for a PDA, not PDA and phone hybrid, just PDA.
The need is sat nav as i travel quite a lot, prefer to have detachable keyboard cuz i make lots of notes and big screen. As much connectivity as possible, Bluetooth, Wifi (easy to find add-on), infared etc. and SD slot
Can you guys show me the light

i love pocket pc, go hewlett packard

my hp 1940 is sooo thin and light and i can use it for everything - practical usual stuff, videos, mp3 player (with winamp!!). their customer service is excellent too, i snapped the screen in half last year (my fault, fell on it!), and they fixed it for free!!!

i havent got much experience with palm, but they do look pretty and are suposed to be good.

IMO the Tungsten T5 is hardly good value in comparison withe the Axim X50

If you want connectivity the Palms are not really the best choice at the mo .

In terms of "big screen" the champ has to be the 4" VGA on the HP ipaq 4700. It has CF and SD slots, WLAN and Bluetooth. The downside is that you'll be paying £360 for one. They do a detachable mini-keyboard for £32 ex VAT, or a Bluetooth folding jobbie for £80 (ouch!).

The Dell Axim X50v has a VGA screen as well, but 3.7" rather than 4". I don't have one, but one of our guys at work does, and the screen is gorgeous. Similar spec to the ipaq, and £20 cheaper. Better 3D graphics, couple of games thrown in and a choice of free add-ons:

"CF FM Radio including PC MCA Adaptor - Turn your Axim into an FM Radio
Audiovox card - integrate a separate GSM/GPRS SIM card (not sold by Dell) to Axim X50/v for Internet
Ambicom 56K CF Modem w/o Socket Connector - Modem/Network Access with your Axim
EOPs CF TV Tuner including PC Card Adaptor (Axim X50 & X50v) - Watch TV on your Axim"
Keyboard-wise, you're looking at 3rd party, but £33 gets you the ThinkOutside folding IR jobbie, which ought to do (their BT version is about £80 again).

If I were looking at a serious PDA, then I'd get the Dell, choose the Audiovox card and get the IR keyboard.

TomTom's Navigator 3 Bluetooth can be had for under £170.

If you don't need a VGA screen, then the mid-spec X50 can be had as a bundle with Bluetooth GPS for £469.
