Had my first run in with a mobile phone virus, was cabir on my friends n-gage, should be fine (if its not ill be back ).
Has anyone else had a run in?
Also another friend may have one, she is taking it into the 02 shop, i told her to tell them about mobile viruses cause they wont have a clue.

Haven't contracted it myself but I can give this advice:

    1) Cabir spreads via bluetooth. When accepting bluetooth connections, considering who is connecting to your phone. Do you know who it is? Have you asked them to bluetooth you anything.
    2) All mobile phone viruses (or technically "malware") require user interaction before they can affect your phone. When installing software on your phone, think about where you received the installation .sis file from and whether it's a reliable source. Warez and files bluetoothed/MMSed from unknown sources should not be installed under any circumstances.
    3) If you get infected then check out F-Secure's website. They often provide disinfection advice. If this still fails then you can always master reset the device by keying in *#7370#. They will format the phone and return it to it's original state. However, you will lose all of your own data along with the virus.

    Hope this helps.
