Blackberry 7290 or M500
About to change my works phone to a smartphone and have the choice of most phones on the Orange network. At the moment looking at the M500 or the Blackberry 7290. I had been interested in the C550 but changed my mind now due to battery life. Just wondered if many folk had experience of these two phones and what their thoughts were?

I'm not a big fan of the requirements for blackberrys back end server. The MS Smartphone alternative strill have a long way to go , but they are gunning for blackberry in a big way so I'd expect them to be a little more polished in a 18 months time.

I hadn't considered the Treo 650 but read a fair amount this afternoon and seems a good choice. I'll probably have a walk into one of the shops first and have a good look at it.

The Blackberry might not be perfect (a also carry a PDA) but for a dedicated portable email device it works very well. One big plus is that I have used it in the channel islands, France and the USA an have never paid an extra penny for the using email abroad. (I am on t-mobile data tarrif).
