    SE K750i stereo headphone adapter

For anyone that listens to MP3's on their K750i, I highly recommend the K750i to 3.5mm stereo adapter. Link here:

    http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/7265.htm

I got mine delivered with 48 hours and price is better than the price you would pay on E-Bay the last time I checked.

These sell out very quickly as they're currently showing a lead time of 1-2 weeks. Supply a decent set of headphones and the sound is pretty awesome.

I ripped one of my CD's using Exact Audio Copy using default LAME MP3 settings and listened to a few tracks on my Sennheiser PX100 headphones. The sound is very, very good for a mobile phone! Whilst it cannot compete with my iRiver H140, the K750i delivers a warm, rich sound with a soft edge. It's very relaxing and the music can be enjoyed for extended periods without causing fatigue.

The supplied K750i earbuds are just so poor in comparison and do not do the audio capabilities of this phone justice.

Well thats the first good comment i've heard about the adapter!

Most people say the sound quality is really bad when paired with decent earphones. By decent i mean shure e2c/e3c etc. guess it could be better with slightly less sensitive earphones. Not sure what your headphones are like (Better than shure?)

If the quality is better than i've heard it is then i'll order 1

If you have e3cs then why the hell are you wanting to play mp3s off a phone? You need something with a half decent snr to start with, Hence why i turned down a 115 quid NW-HD3 (new) yesterday.

The Shure E2C and E3C are high end earplugs. The audio quality of the K750i will be hopelessly mismatched with those! Indeed, to get the best out of those you really need a very high quality MP3 player with bitrates of 256Kb+ or a proper HiFi system IMO. To save space on my memory card i'm just encoding to standard MP3 settings.

I'm just comparing the sound to that from the stock earbuds. I think the other big advantage is that I can use the headphones that I am comfortable with. I cannot get used to the earbuds that come with the phone as one keeps falling out of my right ear! I must have funny shaped ears...

The two headphones I use regularly for travel and with my iRiver H140 are the Sennheiser PX100's (lightwight over the head type) and the Sony MDR-EX71's (earplugs). Both are very well rated even on esteemed sites like Hydrogen Audio, especially the Sennheiser PX100's which tend to be a good match for many MP3 players. But they're probably not a patch on the Shure's which are fairly high-end plugs that need high-end equipment to get the best out of them.

These new Sony ones look interesting. The earplugs look like MDR-EX's.

I have the same problems as you Taz with the buds falling out of my ears, i think this is quite common though and my ear are fairly normal. I will get the new Sony's and adaptor as soon as I can. I too have read that the cheap chinese ones that are around that the moment have quality issuse with just about any headphones.

A friend of mine at work just showed me thier new W800i. Not that impressed with the the phone (well actually i am but it's just a slightly tacky looking version of the K750i with a few vey minor tweaks). I am however very impressed with the HPM-70 Headphone. They are like 10,000 times better than the k750i ones. I will be getting some as soon as i can

I'm wondering which headphones are on the official Sony adapter. I wouldn't imagine Sony would develop a new set of plugs just for the adapter - i'm guessing that they are standard ones that Sony already sell. I prefer the earplug types anyway as they fit much better than buds but I already have a set of Sony MDR-EX71SLB's which are quite good. I wish that you could get the Sony adapter on its own without the headphones as that would probably make it a tenner!

Yeah they are the ones that go nicely in your ear like ear plugs. They also come with three different sized plugs for different sized ears.

I can't stand the look of the W800, and i'm not the ony one that has said this

i just wish SE would make the media player for the W800 available to us K750 owners. The player looks way way better the the rubish we get

Do you want to bet? It's virtually identical to the K750i. It's hardly been changed at all, except Walkman branding, and a 'play by artist or album' - which IMO is virtually redundant in a small memory/flash based player when you have playlists anyway. The only thing i wish the K750i had was a 'music only' funtion where the phone is turned off (making battery last a bit longer and allowing use on airplanes) but it's still just the standard player.

Not only that, but the W800 is plastic, while the K750i is nice gun metal. Also they have done away with the Activity button on the W800i, which i really like.

Trust me, K750i owners have nothing to be jelous of W800i owners about. In fact i think K750i is better once you have bought a bigger memory card and headphone adaptor. Also, the W800i only comes with one game - a truely awful vertion of tetris. Im mean like REALLY bad.

The only thing i really wish these phones had was gappless playback. Is that too much to ask? I look forward to seeing if the Nokia 9* series have this. If they do that will be my next phone i think.

And as soon as you have flashed it to make it a W800i, why not replace the housing with W800i's housing to finish the transformation! http://www.se-nse.com/forum/showthread.php?t=870
