I think you have to have the latest firmware to get video recording capabilities? Maybe I should ring my local vodafone staore and put in a request for new firmware...

Just a note; I have the E720, and while it's OK, the battery life is crap.

the only downsides to the V3 imo are:

    1) motorola UI, particularly for the the predictive text (it's clumsy and is not editable i.e. you cannot remove words from the dictionary)

    2) slow processor. The phone often lags behind during text-composition and is sometimes slow to react in displaying messages etc, but it looks lovely and it's not crashed fully to date (touches wood)

The v3 is a great phone if you want limited features, no memory and the smallest phone on the market. The e720 is comparable to the d500 iirc, my sisters one lasts a week with average use. I think the sony ericsson flips are 3g or vodafone only, cant remember which.
    Hope this helps

it makes calls, sends texts, has a decent calender and plays mp3s for it's ring tone. I don't really need it to do a lot else. Could use a few more puzzle-y type games I guess for those occasional moments of boredom... I wouldn't necessarily say it's the smallest phone on the market! It may have a very small volume, but it's main plus here, IMHO, is that it is the flattest phone out there, which means it's very much pocket-friendly. That's exactly what I wanted. Oh, and it doesn't use propriatory connectors, just a mini-usb input.

The V3 will definitely not suit everyone (as with any phone) but then that's what phone shops are for - go and have a look/play

you'd have thought that quite a large chunk of the people who'd get the v3 because of sharapova being in the advert aren't going to be the same people who want a pink phone

    nice find
