Arrow Real Orange SPV C600 Preview

Over at www.coolsmartphone.com, they have a real C600 up in a small-review type thing, but it's worth the read.

I have to say with WM 5.0, megapixel cam, EDGE and high-res screen, it looks tempting, but I would rather keep my C500 until one with WiFi is released. I know there are M2000's and that, which have WiFi, but I would rather have a candybar smartphone with WiFi thank-you-very-much

    Enjoy

Nice write up - Shame orange have fluffed with the Lack of Wifi.

Going to be interesting as both my M1000 and C500 are due for their annual replacements, and its GOT to be a WM5 phone to be worth considering (and before anyone starts hurling symbian at me, It's easier to deal with smart phones when You put exchange 2003 in the scenario).

Absolutely! Swapped by SE T610 and Palm V for a SPV C500 about 18 months or so ago and have not looked back. We have a good corporate deal with Orange so am also due a replacement, but it turns out that the C550 is a "non-business" phone as it has Media Player buttons on the front! I am left with either going to the M500 (looks like a mini-IPAQ) or keeping my C500.

I am doing the latter as I like to still be able to txt with a keypad.

I really like the review and think that I will now wait to upgrade to the C600.

Still wish it had media player buttons though....don't have an iPod and rely on the half-gig card with music on to keep me occupied!

Lol is this the same gingerninja that went to the HGLAN some time earlier this year?

I have an iPod so the media button's don't really appeal to me on the C550, but I can see the market area that it does appeal to. I would consider getting an M2000 perhaps, since a mate has one and the thing is amazing.

I really wish a tinytiny Mini-SD WiFi card came out which was no bigger than conventional ones. The likeliness of that happening is small (I know they do SD-Card versions but it can't possibly get that small, can it?) but unless they bring a candybar phone with WiFi out my C500 performs perfectly

Doesn't the nokia N series (or some of them) have WiFi?

I still don't see the big deal with integrating wi-fi on phones , if i'm at home i'll browse the internet on my laptop. If i'm at work i'll have the internet on the PC. If i'm out and about i'll only need to read emails, and the screen is still too small for webpages

Yea but it would be cool to go on Skype, or check your email (I don't have a working laptop, or one in my pocket )

My home has complete WiFi coverage (including the front and back garden lol), so does my dads office, and my college. So it would be nice to listen to some internet radio or something over Wifi on a phone. I guess for those who never really use it, it isn't much fuss but I would really like it without having to fork out for a £400 phone...

Also quite disappointed with the camera quality in that, I do hope that ROM updates do improve it in the future.

Yeah, the camera looks like its set up really badly, not sure what they were thinking.

The sharpness must be the quality of the plastic in front of the sensor.

I don't know why they do that little plastic thing... it makes the four corners of the pictures darker when you take them, which is what happens with the C500... but the quality is really good, so I don't really think it interferes there. I would have liked to see a 2mp cam ideally, or a better lens, whichever makes the camera quality far better.
