Reliable place to sell a mobile

    Hi

Note, I'm not selling phones here, and will not discuss sales of mobiles on the forums.

Right, now that's out of the way, does anyone know of a reliable place (website/forum etc) to sell a mobile phone? I've used Esato in the past but it's a bit dead there and I'm very wary of Ebay as it's easy to get done on there.

Stew, delete if you think this inappropriate.

If you're careful on ebay its actually the best place to sell your phone Just make sure a) you get payment first b) payment is via paypal or cheque (if cheque, make sure it clears before sending)

Sometimes you get the odd muppet who doesn't pay up, but ebay lets you relist for free anyway, you just have to control the auction properly (i.e. cancel bids that you think are taking the piss)

Doo Doo Doo Da Da DA...

    MD's system
I used ebay for mine, the best thing is to use the paypal instant payment required field, it means you don't get nigerians trying to buy your phones as they HAVE to pay straight away otherwise the auction remains active.

Its the only way i know of to virtually guarantee an easy sell on ebay.

yeh i aggree with matt... don't mess around with cheques otherwise when they stitch you, you have to get a copy of the cheque (around £4) and then send it along with other annoyances to bloody miles away in another country. oh and all of this needs to be done within 14days-cheers

I'm trying to sell my old 910i on ebay atm n the winning bidder is a 0 feedback chap atm, have sent him a PM but had no reply, gonna scrub his bids in a mo...

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

If you follow a few basic rules, eBay is by far best place. i sold a 16 month old 6230 which would not even switch on anymore for £80 last year, which was free to me. I always sell my 'free' phones on eBay after 12 months. Usually cover the cost of my calls and most of my contract for the year.

Seling phones on eBay can be problematic. But all you need to do is go into the advanced options and make sure you set 'only allow people with paypal account to place a bid', 'only allow people with a feedback of >0 to bid' and 'only allow people to bid who are registered in the counties you are willing to ship'. Just because you tick the box to say "I will only ship to the UK" does not mean that scammers from Nigeria can't bid and mess things up for you, unless you check the extra option.
