Nokia 3230

My friend has had this phone for nearly a year and all of a sudden it will no longer send text messages, it always says message sending failed, has anyone heard of nokia phones doing this? Is there anyway to repair it myself or is just better to bin it and buy a new phone? We are not sure if it is under warranty as she was given it for doing some reserch.

Have you checked the message centre number in setting?

Thats usually what causes this problem.

Thanks, yea i have, i have also tried deleting all the messages and stuff.

I had that with my 6230? try turning it off & back on again. That worked with my phone.

Thanks for the reply, i have tried that, sms won't work with any sim cards i put in. Does anyone know how do to a factory reset? and is this advisable?

Type in *#7370# from the idle screen. It'll wipe all data on the C: drive, but will not touch anything on your memory card.
